Europe is an extremely favourite
destination of tourists, particularly on account of the great enlightening and
geographical diversity it presents. However, except if your country has signed
a visa waiver contract with a Schengen country, it will be compulsory for you
to get a visa, called as Schengen visa if you want to visit Europe.
The residents of those countries that are
subject to the Schengen visa requirements are entitled for the Schengen visa, a
short-term tourist visa having validity in the entire Schengen area, if they
stay there for a maximum of 90 days.
In most of the cases, it is important for
the visa applicant to file for the application in person at the embassy or
consulate of the Schengen member country that will be his or her main destination
in Europe.
On the expiry date of your visa, you have
to leave the Schengen area of Europe and for visiting again, you must reapply
for the visa.
For the visa processing procedure, you will
have to pay a fee as fixed by the embassy of a particular country. Even if you
visa application is not approved, this fee shall not be refunded.
Since 2003, a European declaration makes it
obligatory for the people visiting the Schengen precinct to get travel insurance Schengen
that is a medical insurance plan, till the time the Schengen visa is valid.
There are many insurance companies that offer Schengen travel insurance
plans but you must take care that you must buy from an authorised and trusted
company so that you do not have to face any problems regarding claims later on.
