The Extent of Schengen precinct of Europe delineated

Schengen pact was implemented from the year 1995. The nations participating in this agreement are Belgium, Estonia, France, Greece, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Norway (excluding Svalbard), Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden.

All the Schengen countries have formed a common visa policy for the third-country nationals. According to this system, any third-country national is required to hold a single Schengen visa which will allow him or her to travel to any of the Schengen visa countries. Based on this policy, four types of visa have been brought up for the third-country nationals. These are category A, B, C and D visas based on the duration for which the person wants to stay in this zone.

In addition, this visa will be validated when the visa applicant presents a Schengen visa insurance certificate having adequate medical coverage and which must be valid throughout the stay of the person in the Schengen zone.
