Basics of Visa for Visiting Schengen Territory

If you make an arrangement for travelling to one or more of the member state of European Schengen area, then because of Schengen Agreement which was drafted years ago, you will get the advantage of minimum internal border checks. Less internal checking points obviously points out that there would be stringent regulations concerning granting of visa for getting to these countries. It involves a lot of paperwork and a visa applicant has to present all the documents including Schengen travel insurance as asked by the Schengen Visa Authorities and if they are not certain regarding anything, and then the visa application is rejected.
If you are travelling from any country which does not belong to Europe or is not a part of Visa Waiver Agreement of the Schengen nations, then you will almost certainly need a Schengen visa. This visa will permit you to enter the Schengen country you are visiting and stay there for a maximum of 90 days. With this visa, you can also travel to any other Schengen country till the time your visa is valid with very rare or no further formality to be fulfilled. But while crossing border, you will probably be asked to present travel insurance Schengen certificate.
When you have made your plans to take a trip to one or a number of of the Schengen countries, then the first thing you must do is to go to the embassy or consulate of the Schengen country where you will enter first and find out whether you need visa or not.  If you require visa, then you must apply for the Schengen visa. For this, it will be essential for you to finish the paperwork and notify them of your main destination as well as the trip plans. The embassy of the country which you will be getting into first will be responsible for issuing Schengen visa to you and giving you consent to go to the other Schengen territories.
