Schengen Visa Requirements for Minors for Getting Schengen Visa Approved

The documents to be submitted to the designated embassy or consulate of the country of the Schengen area where a person is travelling with a minor are mentioned here.
First document to be provided is the original birth certificate of the child on which both the parents’ names are written. This certificate must be in the language other than English or the language of the country with whose embassy the person is going to apply for Schengen visa. If it is some other language, then you must have the proof of official translation confirming the authenticity of this document.
The minor if going alone has to provide the original letter of consent written by the both the parents to apply for and get a Schengen Visa duly signed by both parents. A solicitor or Commissioner for Oaths, or a Consular official of the minor’s nationality must verify this letter.
If one of the parents is going with the minor, then the other parent must write and sign the letter of the consent which is to be provided to the Embassy. It may be required that the parents have to sign this letter in front of an embassy official.
Minors also need to present the evidence of Schengen travel insurance that has cover for urgent medical expenses and repatriation of the amount not less than what is asked by the European law. The applicable amount of travel insurance Schengen is 30,000 Euros.  It must be kept in mind that for the safety of the children, Schengen Visa authorities may take more time to verify all these documents.
